endorsing artist Lakland basses
I have an ampeg svt4pro running mono bridged into an svt 810, great sound nice, loud and deep. Usually i have been running passive basses (Lakland and Fender) and have had no problems. my problem is i recently acquired a Lakland 55-01 and now it peaks with every note of the active Barts in this bass. Now i understand about the -15db pad, however every time i use it, along with my volume dropping i lose most of my tone. So my question is, can i run this amp without the pad at a lower volume and not hurt the bass or should i use the pad and attempt to adjust the tone? (i've messed with it a bit but still can't get a tone that i like with it on)
