Peaver Axelerator 6

The fives listed on harmony central went from $250-525.

If you have played it and "this is the one", should you have the $$, get it. If you can't play it, or it is not quite right (will need the neck and bridge adjusted big time) or if it's scuffed, scraped, or beaten up, less.

Most important is how it plays and sounds. And the answer is different for each of us. If the instrument is solid, the neck/body sound good 'acoustically', an electronic/PU swap can improve a good sounding instrument.

Good sixes are not as common as sixes.

In good shape $500 is in line.

I got mine off CL here in Austin a year ago for $275.00. Its far right (in the back) in the picture (I need to get some individuals of some of my stuff). No doubt it is worth $500.00 but my motto is why pay full price if you don't have too? It is a great playing instrument and sounds good. The B is a little floppy but not terrible. I would have no problem at all gigging with it, and do take it to practice all the time. But the TL-6 and Modulus get all the gig time.

Really nice instrument. As stated above high quality build, massive bridge. Not sure of the string spacing but feels very comfortable, and not overly heavy. 18 volt active electronics. Great low end tone that reminds me a little of a Spector NS5CR that I have. I actually prefer the tone of this to my Modulus, but its the backup to a Peavey anyway, if that tells you anything about what I think about Peavey quality.

Based on the current market, $500 is a very high price for that bass.

But like all Peaveys, it's a superb instrument for that price.

For some reason the last several of them i have seen on evilbay have been in the $650.00 range. Priced too high? Yes. Worth it? Yes. If the OP can get it for around $400.00 I think he will have done pretty well.

One of the best-looking Carvins I've ever seen, too. Very nice collection.
