Peavey 8x10 or 2 - 4x10's ??????

First let me say the the size/weight of the 8x10 is not an issue so no need to focus on that.

Has anyone compared the 8x10 to 2-4x10's? I am currently using an Ampeg 6x10 and its sounds pretty good. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the PV 8x10 has 4 - 2x10 compartments, not sure about the 4x10 construction.
