I find it HILARIOUS!!!! when the 2024 Namm video for the Peavey Cirrus was advertised and the basses never came out:



Now here it is Namm 2025, I guess we will see what Peavey does:

Going by the Vandenberg, and the HP2 guitars, also made in the Czech Republic, and going for 3K street,
I wouldn't doubt this Cirrus will be that same price, maybe even a little more

Overpriced, and not the same design. That, and used U.S. ones are way cheaper.

Much better off with a new Spector Euro.

Hard to say if something is genuinely "overpriced" if you haven't actually played one. And you're right, it's not the same design, it's an improved design.

I really liked what he had in his hand. Really nice if it's a high end build with high end parts. What will the pricing be? I'd also like to hear a properly done demo. If they market this right, they could have a winner! If this is another GASLIGHT moment, it could hurt them!

They keep saying "shipping next week", "available now" etc, but if you go to their website its radio silence. How are people ordering these?

Having said that, you'd need to pry my '98 US Cirrus 4 out of my cold, dead fingers. Amazing instrument.

Apparently they've been shipping some out this week, as this video was recorded last week.

My local Peavey saw the Czech Cirrus basses and he was impressed. He may order some, but I don’t see me getting into the higher bass market again.

While I likely prefer the tone of the Euro, I’ll take the ergonomics of the Cirrus all day every day over the Euro.

I owned a Cirrus about 20 years ago; an absolutely excellent bass.

When the person I bought it from wanted to buy it back, I sold it back to him for the same price.

But I still loved the bass.

It took me a year, but I found its replacement: an Ibanez BTB.

Very similar in tone and feel to the Cirrus, but I feel the BTB sounded more old school, which I actually liked better.

I still have the BTB and play it often.

Then again, I don't flip instruments; I'm careful which instruments I buy, and keep them.

Three grand seems a little high for a new Cirrus, but everything is crazy expensive now.

From my understanding, distributors can order them. It's up to them to get them to their shops for people to actually try them out.
