I've owned a Peavey Cirrus 5 string for a number of years now and absolutely love it. I'm looking for some feedback by players that are able to compare the above mentioned instruments. Would it be an enormous step down to add one of the cheaper models to my collection? Any specifics on hardware differences - pickups, bridge etc?

Hmmn...

Cirrus BXP can be an good gig bass... the indonesians are preferrred..

It's a good Bass if you're a mod freak... no need to dork up a USA Cirrus.

Overall, My favorite bass is a usa Millenium 5... I'm blessed to own a bunch of great basses..

The BXP Millenium is just "ok" not the same magic as a well-setup USA Milenium.

I'd buy the BXP AC model and if the variable mids was so important fit the Tone Monster preamp.
It's around $35.

My USA Millie is a very nice bass but it cost nearly 3 times what both my BXP Millies did. The BXPs play
and sound great, with tiger eye and violet quilt finishes compared to black on the USA they look better too.

I'm not saying the USA isn't a great bass ! It is but the BXPs are not to be sniffed at either.
