Peavey Cirrus VS G&L bass

Is the quality of the Peavey as good as the G&L. I really like the sound of the Cirrus.

If you are talking USA models, the quality is equal. Import G&Ls, however, are usually a bit better than import Cirruses.
Both are great basses, the Cirrus is more "modern" and smooth. The G&L is more aggressive and closer to the Fender sound.

Hm. I assumed you were talking about the G&L L2000. The JB and the Cirrus are very different. JB is an awesome Jazz bass and the Cirrus is more similar to the L2000 - active, lots of sounds, etc. So it depends on what you want. I love my JB but it is not as versatile as a Cirrus.

I know there is a lot of difference in the two guitars. I just like the JB. Had a JB 2 a year or so ago and wish I had never sold it. But I also like the look and sound of the Peavey. I don't play in a band. I just like the bass guitar.

Both are excellent, but given the choice between those 2, I think the Cirrus is the better instrument.

G&L for me. Not a fan myself of Peavey basses - examples i've tried haven't come to life in my hand so to speak.

I am a G&L guy to the core, but I do have a carvin AC50 and a Michael Kelly club custom. both great in their own right, but not a G&L.
Since I have had my G&L rewired to the Kmod I now have many options of sounds.
for those of you who do not know what that is I'll give you a brief.
You replace the middle switch to a 4 ploe on/on/on and depending on which way you wire it up allows you to have coil tapping.
mine is set up for SC outers/full MFH//SC inners.
this gives me all the soundsand tones I could ever want.
IMHO G&L (American) are the best bass out there! that not to say others are not very good, just MHO

A Cirrus and a G&L are 2 very different instruments. I'm a G&L guy, but I also own other basses (I'm plucking a Spector Spectorcore while reading the forum this morning)... so I don't only swear by G&L. The Cirrus as a more modern feel and a slim neck. The G&L is more Fender-like. Both quality instruments, just not the same style at all. Go with what you like better and you will be happy.

I've never played a US Peavey, but the overseas models I've played have been nice. That said, I've owned a Tribute and a US G&L and they are fantastic! Best basses I've ever played.
