Peavey CS3000...taking a crap?

First of all thank you to all who respond or even take the time to read...ill try to make this as simple as possible. Hopefully I'm posting this in the right forum.

This is referring to my Peavey CS3000. This amp is incredible...rock solid and it pumps out the volume like no other. However recently, we have started to get volume drops and some weird sounds coming out of our PA. We first figure speaker cords so we changed those and same thing. then plug into a different amp, and problem vanishes.

So thats the problem i have had. The peavey is a beast but also weighs a ton, and has been dropped 2 times...so i kind of suspected that it might have the issue, especially after changing out cords.

This being said....does anyone know a good way to test these amps? Im an electrician with a decent knowledge of 120v and up....but this kind of stuff im not sure where to begin. Any help would be appreciated. also if i decide to open it up is there anything i should look for specifically. Just any info would help.

thank you all again for at least reading my post.
