Peavey PA speaker horn doesn't work....

So one of the horns on our Peavey TLS4 speakers is out.

I replaced the horn driver (14xt), still doesn't work.

Swapped that horn to the other speakers, works fine, so it's not the driver.

Crossover has a fuse, not blown.

If I get a new crossover, direct replacement not available I've looked, how do I know what crossover point to get?

If it's not the horn it's either in the crossover or the wiring. Either is pretty easily fixable with nothing more than a multimeter and a soldering iron. It's probably a simple enough circuit that you can just start testing components until you find one that doesn't read right.

Also, did you actually talk to the parts department at Peavey? Unless they are no longer making them I'd be very surprised if they wouldn't sell you a crossover.

Do check the fuse with a multi-meter, often times a fuse can actually be blown without looking like it. I also when trouble shooting a circuit like this will take a little chunk of wire, and wrap one end around before the fuse and one end around after the fuse to by-pass the fuse.
If the horn is new and it can make noise when you take a signal direct to it (if not experienced, a couple pieces of wire stripped at both ends can be a real decent trouble shooting tool. To make sure you didn't buy a "lemon" driver, wrap one end of each of the stripped wires around the terminals the low freq. driver has and the other end to the horn's input terminals. Don't turn it up loud as that can blow the thing, but just loud enough to know some sort of sound comes out the horn.
If the horn works and by-passing the fuse didn't get signal through to the horns via the normal plugging it into your amp, then you have a blown crossover. Get your nose up to the circuit board and sniff to see if anything smells burnt or looks like it has been burnt up. If nothing is apparent, I will guarantee something on there is gone. Peavey service should be willing to sell you a replacement. If not, go to Carvin and buy one and retrofit it into your speaker cabinet.

Thanks for the advice....the driver does work, tried it in the other speakers.

The fuse actually had another fuse piggy-backed onto it as a spare, so I just flipped it over and it still didn't work.

Contacted Peavey parts and they gave me a part number for a new crossover, just $40!

I suppose I should have thought to mention that other troubleshooting gem which is, if you have another 2-way speaker you could swap out the drivers to see if they worked.

And for $40 for a new crossover, done deal.
