Peavey PVi 2 or other similiar Peavey mics

To be brief, when our band dropped the drummer and BL we are now without a PA. Im going to gradually build up another system but frankly, this is all virgin territory for me. I'm looking to buy 4 mics, but they dont have to be top of the line stuff - just good enough for practice sessions. The Peavey line has caught my eye merely for the price, but I dont have any experience with them. Can anyone help a feller out here? Dropping $100+ per mic is simply out of the equation right now.

For rehearsal purposes only, they'd be fine. Picked up a couple of the Peavey mic stand packages a couple years ago that include a stand, cable (which is junk, but functional), and PVi100 mic that list at $49.99. I would not put these into a heavy gigging environment (I have nicer gear for that) but the stuff works great for rehearsal. The mic's have some handling noise, but on the stand they sound just fine so it's really a non-issue for me. Yes, you get what you pay for; for rehearsal it's perfectly fine for what it is.

Thanks. Ive also stumbled across some Behringer XM8500 for around $20 per that has got some pretty good reviews for the buck. Im just not looking to pay megabucks for basement playing right now - I have entirely too much stuff to try to build back up

Well, IME, you get what you pay for..
a $20 mic will give you $20 worth of sound.... :(
I know that budget is always a factor, but I've learned over the years that you end up paying WAY more doing upgrades than if you went with an industry standard - such as an SM57 or SM58 to begin with.

I totally get what youre saying and agree 100%. Budget and time is what is going against me right now.
