Peavey TNT 115s/bw: any comments?

So, I found this amp (title) for $80, and I was wondering if it is worth it. I currently have a Peavey Max 110, and I need a little bit more punch. This seems like an amazing deal to me, and a bit of an upgrade from what I currently use. Any comments?

I'm not sure if it's the Sheffield or the Black Widow model, but for $80...

Sheffield had silver outline frame around the entire speaker. More of a stop-sign shape than a circle. BW has no "frame" you can see through the fabric.

First, does it work? This will definitely give you more punch and will be a huge upgrade. I used one exclusively for a few years, but I ran through the p.a. when playing a large venue. Definitely loud. But, play it, turn it up, check the tone(s). If you like it, get it. I am getting older and I prefer the lighter stuff, but the TNT was a solid, dependable workhorse back in the day, especially with the BW speaker.

So I pulled the trigger... I am EXTREMELY happy. I paid $80 for an upgrade in really great condition.

Also, AWESOME Terminator reference.

Buy it, the only thing is that they are a bit heavy, I had one a couple of years ago and I loved it, I sold it because I needed more power, but they are very good, if I remember correctly, it has chorus included. Greetings.

I guess it's not one with chorus (which I was really hoping for). Definitely isn't the same one in the manual I was looking at.

That is not the "first generation" run of that amp - yours is a later (newer) version. Congrats. Except for the weight, it's a very good little amp and should serve you well. I gigged with that amp for ... maybe six years?... or so. Very reliable.

Indeed. I was referring to the earlier versions with the silver or blue strips on the sides of the speaker, but I have played the newer versions as well, all the way up to the current ones with the curved fronts, and have never had a bad experience (except for lifting it out of the vehicle!)

Happy thumping!
