peavey tnt 160

Best thread evar.

major issue: for a while now my peavey TNT 160 bass combo amp has been cutting out, not good for when im playing live. it will kick back in if i slap E string. it starts to happen after about 10 - 15 minutes of continuous playing.
does anyone know what this could be and how to over come it

Friend of mine has a Peavey TKO 115 that had similar symptoms, which grew worse (into "sometimes it will cut out as soon as it's turned on"). The problem turned out to be a bad thermal overload sensor placed on one of the power transistors.

It is possible to test this out yourself by locating said sensor, disconnecting it and throwing a jumper across the connection to see if the symptoms persist in testing (this is in fact exactly what we did to verify the issue), but you shouldn't attempt this unless you have some clue what you're doing with amp innards and/or how to avoid killing yourself while poking around in there.

Your just completely wrong. The jazz just isn't as well made as the jazz is these days. Back then the jazz was great, but the jazz now just doesn't quite come up to par with the jazz.

You guys are all idiots. Anyone who honestly thinks jazz is best needs to get off the board now. The jazz is alright, but the jazz is really far from it. The jazz is maybe a little better than the jazz, but nowhere near as good as the jazz. While the jazz is the worst, the jazz is the best of the group. I refuse to play without my jazz and refuse to play with a jazz.

I like the jazz, but I wouldn't pay that kind of money when I could get a perfectly good jazz for half the price. I also like the jazz, but I'd rather have one if it had a jazz neck, and a jazz pickup in the bridge. Might be cool to take a jazz and re route it for a jazz pickup too. All that being said I wouldn't play a jazz if you gave it to me for free.

This poll shows that the forum's polling system is NOT FAIR. It should be a 4-way tie for jazz, but it is not.

Statistics say that each of the 4 choices would be 25% of the final. They should come out equal if people are picking the at random. Yet, choice 1 and 3 are ahead of 2 and 4. Hmmm, could it be that we have a built in bias against picking 2 or 4? Or is it that we just don't have a statistically significant sample with only 91 votes?
