Peavey Tour 700 cutting

I'm looking into buying a Peavey Tour 700 head, but a lot of the reviews are mentioning this cutting issue. However, others have said you can remove a triac chip (huh?) and that fixes the problem. Others also have said they haven't had a problem with it at all. I'm just wondering if any of you have experience with this head or have experience taking out that chip. Or maybe they fixed the issue and all new ones work well out of the box...

Yeah, I had one of the first ones and it cut out. They fix took bout 5min and no more cutting. If you call Peavey they'll walk you through it. Well sometimes, because the first time I called and he said bring it in because if I did it something about the warrenty doesn't cover me messing with it. ( I live like 45mins from the Peavey factory). They second time I called the guy walked me through and it took all of 5 mins to fix.
