Peavey VB-2?

Anyone have any experience with these amps? I found some threads using the search but I couldn't find much besides speculation. To those that have used it, does it have classic warm tube sound? And how is the volume? Last but not least, how does the overdrive channel sound? Thanks.

I played on of them and a svt 3 pro at GC.

If I had been buying a new head I would have had to seriously consider the VB2 overthe svt 3.

It sounded pretty damn good.

But that was through the new peavey cabs 1 4-10 and 1- 15

I'm considering the VB2 as well. While the SVT is my fave all time tube head, I like the whole market niche that Peavey has hit for this head. 225 watts at close to half of what an SVT weighs seems to be worth checking out in my book. Add in that it's U.S. made and retails for under a grand, it just might prove to be a winner.

I've got one. I took it over to a friend's house (Funkster) who is an SVT guy and he plugged it into his NV610 and let me tell you. It sounded fantastic. He could dial in a very good SVT tone with it. Smiles all around. Durability? Don't know yet b/c they're so new but hey, it's a Peavey and will probably last longer than any of us. :)
