A great amp if it does not have that resistor problem (which as other said is a quick fix). Good tone controls and tones, plenty of power.

Loved mine while I had it, needed to upgrade for 2 ohm stability. Would've kept it if it ran 2 ohms safely, but I'm really happy with my rig now.
I'm sure the guy who I sold my tour 700 to was happy getting a good deal on a solid amp.

Hey Phatbasstard, i emailed you for the specs to remove the triac resistor. i have 2 gigs this weekend, and wanna get that thing removed asap lol. My tour 450 has been a solid head for 2 years now (bought it used) but recently started cutting out for 10 seconds here and there, while using my active spector. When I used my passive p bass, it doesnt do it, and if it does, not often. I tracked the serial number, and found mine was in the early 100 produced lol. Unfortunatly, since it is used, I cant do the warranty thing. Thanx man...

So i removed the triac resistor, and my tour 450 is sounding better than ever, and no cutting out at all anymore. This amp is truly amazing in my mind. I have always been a peavey guy, especially when using an active 5 string bass. i find alot of amps can't handle the low B string notes, and clip out at high volumes. I've owned this head for 2 years now, but was using a wireless unit, and think that is why i never had issues with the head until recently, when I stopped using it. Wireless units tend to dramatically cut your frequency down, and actually hinder your tone. Anyway, long story short lol, I think this amp rocks, and now with the triac mod completed (VERY easy to do), it's better than ever! HIGHLY reccomend this bass head!!!

I have the same problem on my 700.
Actually there are two triac in the circuit, TR1 and TR3.
Which is the one to remove?
