Pedal board that stays in it's case?

i built one myself, as simple as it can get..
just two thin boards, from a drawer or something, taped together and an old laptop-case.

I have one similar to this, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Instead of Velcro it has fabric glued to the inside of the box, which started to come unstuck fairly soon. The hinges come apart so you can remove the lid, which is convenient, but they’re very fiddly to get back together in the dark. And the lip around the bottom is high enough to interfere with the input/output jacks on most pedals.

Not sure why so many recommended flat boards without the ability to store extra gear or route cables underneath since you stated you wanted that feature. Actually, I'm not exactly certain myself what you are looking for...a lid that folds over/under the board without you having to remove it?
It goes without saying for any board you choose, but you know you're ready for a custom board when you're willing to commit to the dimensions. So that when your choices in pedals change, which will invariably happen over time, you tell yourself that you're going to work within the confines of the board you've chosen. It's actually liberating in a sense. Kinda like furnishing your home. You only move when you're ready for a big change.

I would be good with a lid that comes off. The main thing is that once the lid/cover is removed, you don't have to lift the board out, you can access and use the pedals at that point. There would be a power port and i/o like on a Temple board. So like a cross of what I posted in the first post with a Temple board. Temple has a soft case, I think, however you have to remove the board from the case to use it however.
This is not true. All of Boss' BCB products have been redesigned to accommodate other brands of pedals. The BCB-30X, BCB-60, BCB-90X, and BCB-1000 all work with any brand of pedal.
Yep, my Ampeg pedals fit perfectly as well.
But w/ the BCB-30X open floor plan, any size pedals will fit.
Trailer Trash - two of my bandmates had these for quite a while and they were quite nice. If you get the ATA case option the board can live inside.
I also have a large Pedal Pad that is great, hinged top with I/O on the side and an integrated mic stand.

Pedal Pad looks really nice. I like the lower level and the hinged upper level. Have any of you gigged much with them? I was thinking about the Studio III model (16” wide, 12” deep). Any positive/negative stories or opinions would be appreciated.

It’s an angled board with a whole for power cables that sits in a case and you are technically meant to remove it… but I’ve run it for 10 years just unzip the case and attach the cables to the input and output… has a little storage pouch on top of the case too.

A really good budget case is the ones from RondoMusic; only $49 to $89. They have a couple of versions in metal and plastic, case style, I've been using one for over 5 years and have had no issues, it just works; simple velcro. The all metal ones last a bit longer I think.
