pedal order preference

1. Compressors/limiters; They seem to work best here because they do into:
2. Drive/overdrive/distortion; because it affects the signal level for the rest of the chain;
3. EQ; since it shapes the tone fro the rest of the chain
4. Modulation (chorus for me); it is easier to get clarity from the pedal than earlier and if placed later will mess with:
5. Time based; because I don't want to deal with the problems of trying to get the echoes from a reverb pedal to sound good. They are a garbage in, garbage out sort of thing.
6. Sonic maximizer; this is just where it fit on the board. Seemed like a good place since I just wanted it to do its thing on the end signal before going to the board.

Basic idea: Signal level>tone shaping>tone affecting effects>effects that don't affect tone. A lot of people seem to use this basic formula as a starting place.

Compressor>Sansamp BDDI>Overdrive(s)>Modulation(s)>Delay>Noise Reduction

All run through effects loop pedal into front of amp. Tuner in separate loop.

Funny how compression is always in front of overdrives, but I never use compression with overdrive. In fact, I never use compression pedal at all, so I'll probably get rid of it. Shame, it's really a cool orange color.
