Pedals for doom metal

[Q24]

Hellos, picked up a bass a year or so ago, and am quite digging it. I recently got into a big Kyuss/Fu Manchu/Sabbath kick lately, and as such snagged a Green Russian Muff Pi (After reading that I'd be better off getting that instead of a Bass Big Muff). I also have a Fulltone OCD that I put behind the Russian Muff, and that combo, oh man, lovely thunderous floor-shaking stuff. I run all that into a DOD Bass Stereo Chorus that I flick on whenever I'm jamming out more mellow interludey things. Next, I'm looking for a wah to mess around with, I'd love to get the gnarly growly screamy sounds found here

Q1:
After a bit of independent bopping about, I'm going to go ahead and chuck out a prediction that the bass player is using a 105Q Bass Crybaby there, rite? Any substantial difference in tone between the Mini Bass Crybaby and the original 105Q aside from the size and chasis?

Q2:
Any additional essential nutzoid fuzzes to tack onto all this for a good doom/stoner metal bass tone? Got the OCD into the Russian Muff, not particularly convinced I need much else, but hit me if I'm missing something.

I like a wah between the two, and I prefer to run mine through the loop of an LS2, so it's OD->LS2->Fuzz.

I also used a phaser and envelope filter, ymmv. Some people like flangers instead. I don't like my wah, so I won't recommend it. I'd like to replace it with an Ibanez WD7 but never got around to it.

Not that I play doom but I replaced my WD7 ( of sorts I still kept it) wity the cry baby bass mini wah... don’t know how it compares to the original bass wah but i can get most of the same tone the wd7 does although fits more of a low pass filter. The wd7 can be setup like either a low pass filter or band pass depending on settings so it’s a bit more versatile... I don’t mind it being low pass like as I’m sweeping a low B string through fuzz most the time. Just my 2 cents. (Oh and mini wah is obviously a space saver too!)

Found it interesting quite a few big sized metal acts using the wd7 like really recently so obviously it still gets around!

Answer to Q1: the mini and full size bass cry baby should sound the same, just need to get used to the different size. Got a mini, took me seconds to get used to the size. Great sound

I like my Boneshaker a lot right now. By itself, it sounds how it sounds... but in the mix it added exactly the crushing kind of grind I was looking for. This was a clip from the other day-

Lots of good fuzz out there but to really play doom you need a big rig...
