Can anyone tell what the bass player is doing in this song? It almost looks like straight quarter notes of the root. But then sometimes I see more movement from both hands and I can't tell.

It's hard to hear, but it looks and sounds like straight quarter notes, on roots, with a couple of sections where both the bass and guitar alternate between the root and fourth.
