If it gives me the low end volume I want, a total of four of them with my Alembic F1X and Crest Pro 8200 should be a real earthshaker. If not, AccuGroove here I come. My dream rig!---along with my Sukop five and the incredibly beautiful five that Pete Hanewinckel is building for me.

I've been watchin this thread and I'm gonna throw somethin out there. An Eden VT300? Probably worng but whatever. Gard, do you have any experience with these? I've heard they're VERY unreliable.

Anyway, while you guys were pestering Gard all day, I had a few minutes to play my 55-94, RB5 and Zon Sonus through it. My comments are in comparison to the Eden WT-800. The tone is a bit warmer and more "plump", whatever the hell that means. Fewer knobs to mess with, but a lot of great tones in there. I don't diddle the knobs on the WT-800 that much anyway, so it's comparable. The amp seems to like J-basses, but the Lakland sounds great through it, too. It likes the Zon the most, to my ear, but that may be because the Zon has enough bite and growl to take the Aggie more toward the "modern hi-fi" tone to which I have become accustomed. It's easy to get a nice tubey sound by just boosting the preamp and reducing the Master. The Eden doesn't get that kind of sound for all you vintage freaks.
I won't be gigging it for a while, but I'll give further impressions after I've used it out in the real world. I can now say with added authority that, after you reach a certain level of quality in an amp, the preference gets down to musical taste. While this amp has a certain character that could be difficult to dial in on the Eden, it in no way blows the Eden out of the water. My preliminary analysis is that both are equally superb amps in both quality and sound, and I won't be foresaking my trusty Eden gear. When I'm tired, I'll probably carry the Eden, since it weighs about half as much.
