people with knowledge of hamer basses

So I bought this a year or so ago off ebay for like 400 bux, I barely ever play it but someone asked me the other day what kinda bass it is and i didnt have a clue.

i actually did try and look it up and i found out that my bass is unusual. it has a 7 digit serial code and on this site: Invalid Link Removed i couldnt find any hamer guitars with 7 digit codes.

i would think its a hamer blitz... but all the blitz basses ive seen have P-J style pickups. my bass has 2 humbuckers.

so if anyone knows wether this is a blitz bass or not... or what year it was made... or what the deal with the serial codes is that'd be cool... thx

Found this thread while searching. It seems the serial numbers decoders don't relate to imported models.

Hamer made an Explorer-shaped guitar that they called "The Standard". They also made a bass version. The Blitz was essentially a Standard with a PJ pickup setup. What you have is an imported version of the Standard. Very similar to the Epiphone Explorer Bass.

Kevin... Thanks for clearing that up man. What I have was only manufactured from 2001 - 2002... Thats interesting to know since I thought it was vintage.

Yea it definitely looks alot holder than 7-8 years. The screws on the pickups are slightly rusted and the fingerboard and nut look well worn.

5string5fingers...I know right... I noticed the screws after I took the pic. The dude who shiped it to me did a horrid job of packaging it so maybe that has something to do with it. When I got it there was a couple scratches and a dent the about the size of a fingernail on the back... it was a damn shame.. never buy basses off ebay.
