Double Bass performing arts school?

I am a sophmore in high school (I've been playing for a little over 5 years) and I recently made the decision to transfer to the local performing arts school. I thought this would be a cool opportunity to focus more on music and further my bass education. The only problem is that i have no idea what to expect out of it or if it is worth the change.

For people who go, or went, to a performing arts school, I was wondering what your experience was like there.

Why don't you go over there and sit in on classes, talk with students, teachers, etc. before you make the commitment?

had a bad experience.. they wanted to do all the fun stuff and didn't spend enough time on the reality part... should have spent more time on the business end.

I did well on the classes.. well on testing.. made it a bit tougher to get into undergrad programs (was missing some math, sciences etc).
