Phantom basses from Cologne, Germany

Hello dear mates,

my name is Vladyslav and I don’t have experience with a bass guitar, but I play metal with e-guitar for 14 years. I want to buy and start playing a bass guitar. Main purpose is metal and home/studio recording. I think I found a good proposal, but the problem is that I can’t find much info about that bass guitar. I’m saying good proposal because the bass is supposed to be handmade in Cologne, Germany. It is called Phantom XTC, some specs below.

you may find it here e-bass phantom xtc 5-saiter

My question is if anyone had a chance to play that bass guitar? Does it costs its money?Alternatively I could find some Ibanez or Warwick for this cost, but handmade in Cologne and its look sounds attractive.

Thank you for your time.

So it's not one of these........Darn you had me all excited.

The builder is Eduard "Ede" Tüske. There's a rudimentary website here: Phantom Guitars - Gitarrenbau Köln

Also, here's an interview (in German) with the man: Interview: Eduard Tüske / Phantom Guitars & Basses - AMAZONA.de

I've never played a Phantom, but this looks like a very well realized bass, and well kept too. If you're comfortable starting out on a 5-string I'm sure it would be a good choice.

Hi cdef,
Thank you for your opinion and links, I’ll have a closer look on them. I saw the website before, but it’s kinda empty.

Cheers

Yes, indeed, somehow private luthiers keep choosing inappropriate names for their products: Phantom, Eternal, Fame, etc. Internet kinda big and these words kinda “attractive” for those who wants to have a “unique” name… It’s way better to create your own word which means nothing like “Borgal” or smth, even then it’s probably was used somewhere somehow. Anyway thanks for reply, if I will take the bass, I will share some detailed info + demo
