New member to the group and in desperate need of help.
I've replaced the output jack on my '82 SB1000 due to a catastrophic hardware failure (it literally broke into 3 pieces). I did the work myself due to having separation anxiety with turning over my bass to a luthier. I am skilled enough to solder the part in, so I bought the part from a European supplier that deals specifically with SB parts. During the repair process, I found ALOT of poor solder points and the root of my buzz. Many burned sheaths from an earlier repair ('87ish I think). Fresh solder, clean wiring, and new parts led to a fresh, buzz-free sound that I hadn't heard in over years.
After replacing the output jack, my phase switch isn't working. I took great care to depopulate each wire one at a time and move to the new jack to prevent issues.
