Pheno / Epoxy Coating on Fretless Neck

I'm looking to put a Fretless neck on one of my Fender Jazz basses.

Questions...

Are there any places that sell replacement fretless necks that have Phenowood / Diamond Wood / Epoxy coated finger boards?

or..

If I find a good deal on a fretless neck that I like.. where would I go to get the neck epoxy coated professionally?

Considering that the wait-list for HG Thor is massive I suggest looking for a local luthier. From what I can tell, epoxied boards are a pretty common option. But to answer your first question, Joel, no there aren't any that I know of.

I thought Status made necks that had a phenowood fingerboard, but I couldn't get it to load.

For dymondwood specifically, I don't know of the likes of Stew Mac or Warmoth doing something like that. I'm sure a luthier could build you a replacement neck with a Dymondwood fingerboard or polyester coat.

I got a Warmoth neck for my Precision and had Brian Lewis do all my finishing. Did a killer job. I had the neck shipped direct to his shop and he took it from there. Here's the thread that details the whole thing...

Yes, Status is an option for neck replacements with phenolic fingerboards. Their necks are graphite though, don't know if that is what you're looking for or not. Status quality is second to none, and if you're okay with graphite then you won't be disappointed. Here is the link:

Got to add my recommendation for HG Thor. There is a reason for his waiting list---superior workmanship. He also has an expedite service option if your jonesing to have it now. I had him work his magic on my jazz bass and couldn't be happier. Good luck in your quest.
