Phil Jones BG-75 Double Four Possible Grounding Problem

Just got my Phil Jones BG-75 Double Four and I love its sound, diminutive size, and low weight! The only issue I notice is that there is a electrical buzz when I'm not touching the strings, indicative perhaps of a grounding problem. I have not noticed this issue in the same room, using the same outlet and same bass with my MarkBass CMD 121p. I also note that while the Markbass amp has a three-pronged plug (meaning it has a ground), the external power supply on the Phil Jones has only a two-prong plug (meaning not grounded).

Any idea what my issue could be? I have e-mailed Phil Jones and I'm awaiting a response.

I had the same problem with my Double Four. It is definitely a grounding problem, you get an audible earthing type buzz with older passive basses (new active basses or better screened basses don't seem to be a problem). The existing Edifier switching adapter supplied with the amp from new is inadequate for the job. I'm sure PJB know about this issue. I ended up buying a new PJB branded earthed adapters (model no. ADT-60200). They're larger than the old Edifier adapters, and my passive bass is now nice and silent through the amp. Not sure if there is a U.S. supplier but in the UK you can buy them from a PJB distributor called Synergie who sell them for £25.

My BG-75 came with the ADT-60200 (see image below) and yet, in spite of that, I still have the problem with my Traveler Bass, which is passive, but not with my Jazz Bass equipped with EMG-JAX pickups, which are active.

Steve at PJB advised me to look into shielding my TB-4P and he's sending me some kind of "small link connect" to correct the issue.
