Phil Jones - CAB-47 vs. C4 => what’s the difference?
I know there are obvious differences here, such as the C4 has 5 inch speakers and the 47 has 7 inch speakers, but other than that what are the major differences? I guess what I’m really asking is which one is better? I just purchased the BP 800 head, and it sounds great, but at a loss as to which of these two cabinets to get. Any help is appreciated!

I am a fan of both designs. I am continuing to compare the two, but I am likely going to go with the CAB-47. My upright and 5 string Sadowsky absolutely sing with this cabinet. My hesitation with both is a satisfactory tone with my fender P. It’s not bad at all, but not quite what I want it to be. I wish the BP800 had an adjustable que for the mid adjustment. My plan is likely to stick with the CAB-47 and explore some third party EQ pedals.

any EQ pedal ideas for this are welcome.

I wound up going with the cab 47. I am a huge fan of the 5 inch speakers and I think they definitely have their place, but as far as a wider spectrum with more lows and highs, the 7 inch speakers just simply do a better job. Of course, these cabinets also have the subs and the tweeters. I wish there was a volume knob for the tweeters like my Ampeg 410. I like to have them pretty low or off. Turning down the ultra high knob on the DB 800 pretty much illuminates the tweeter frequencies. With Covid, it’s going to be a while, but I’m looking forward to using this rig in a life or rehearsal situation. I do have a gig at a fairly big venue in Nashville in the coming weeks so I will let you know how it does. I should be playing both acoustic and electric on this date so it will be a good test.

as for dialing in my town with my fender bases, I decided to give the EQ2 a try. I am not disappointed! It’s hard to find anything bad about this pedal. There’s a little bit of a learning curve, but it’s not that difficult, and if you’re new to parametric equalizers as well as Q and low pass filters, you’ll learn a lot using this thing.

Thanx for the lifeline... Ya it should be for a different thread.... BUT, small quality oriented companies like PJB are "bullied upon" by Fender... So my passions got the best of me!!

Also, wanted to say, that this thread title looks like an equation from an advanced math class!!!
Good for us PJBers... No fools here!!
