Phil Jones Micro 7 combo - How to safely add a speaker out Jack?

I just purchased the Phil Jones Micro 7, a 50 watt combo amp that's less than 12"x12"x12". I'm thinking about adding a speaker out jack to it. This is my 1st post on Talkbass.

Does anyone know the impedance of the Micro 7's existing 7" speaker and tweeter? I'm also trying to figure out what range of impedance load the combo's onboard amplifier can handle safely.

I want to wire the speaker out jack in parallel with the combo's 7" speaker and tweeter. I would connect an 8 ohm extension cabinet.

Before I add a speaker out jack to the combo, is there a way to preview what it would sound like with a single 8 ohm extension cabinet connected? There's a large port on the back of the Micro 7 that a wire could be temporarily be run through to test having an external speaker connected.

I think if Phil Jones had intended for the M7 to power an external speaker he would have included a jack. As the manual doesn't list any of the important information with regards to the speaker load, I'd say that adding anything to it is detrimental. The manual also states that you should use a powered speaker for more output. I really think PJB is discouraging modifications like what you have in mind, and you will void the warranty in doing so.

Maybe instead of an external speaker you could place a toaster in front of the amp and then mic the toaster! The bagel setting is very wonderful welcome to TB my friend!!

Easy! One would be blistering hot and have a funny smell, the other would have a piece of toast sticking out the top.
