Phoenix Bound!!!!!!

Hello my fellow low-enders....
I have been on this forum for a little while and I need some guidance. I will be moving to the East Valley area of Phoenix AZ ( my best friend told me East Valley...AJ, Gilbert, Chandler, Queen Creek...etc.,). I am relocating from East TN to start a new life. I will be moving soon (within the next six months) and I will be attending the R-V school, to pursue a dream of music. My problem is, I don't know anybody! I'm looking to make some friends before I get there. Maybe help me find the right church and right group of people. I have been out of music for nearly ten years, and it's time to get back. Thanks guys.

Tempe is pretty central from a rehearsal/gigging perspective. My favorite living area is the Mesa highlands and the bench that goes over to AJ. Great views. GL.

BTW, you may find the PHX gigging scene a bit weird. The club scene is somewhat tough at the moment.

Also, agree with GH that Tempe is better than West Mesa.

Here's a shout out from Roc, I live here in Mesa, right on the border line of Gilbert & Chandler. It's beautiful on this side of town, I've been here about 14 yrs now, I also know some nice Churches in the area. Drop me a pm if you have any questions. Welcome in advance, I believe you will enjoy it here.

i am a Tucson guy myself, but i've spent plenty of time in the Phoenix area. Plenty to do and plenty of places to go for whatever you might want or need to do. Tempe makes sense as far as having anything you might need in a small area.

You bring up a good point; My wife(soon-to-be-ex, don't worry, good terms)described the mentality of only driving ten minutes to get whatever you need. Having lived in an area where i had to drive 45 minutes to a good music store, and other things, I hope that I do not get stuck in that mentality. I don't have a problem driving half an hour to work or 45 minutes to a gig, I will probably have to drive 30 minutes every day when I go to school. Opinions?
