Phones output.

If i take a cable from my phones output in to mic input on my pc will it be record able ?
Might just be stupid?

The headphone output is not made to be connected to a line-level input. The signal from the head phone output is not only the incorrect impedance it is also a hotter signal than the audio card is looking for. That being said, if you kept the volume VERY low it is possible it will work, worst case you will have a distorted sound.
