Photoshop Gurus - Need Help with Band Photo

Hey Guys -
We recently eliminated a band member, and need help with editing him out of our band photo. It will be a few months before we'll have the ability to take new photos, so I'm curious if someone can take a shot at the task. Because its a line-up type photo, I'm hoping the task is achievable without too much grief. I have a color and black and white version of the same photo.

Here's the color version of the photo. I'm aware the ground is not level and may create a challenge, but hopefully it can be done.

We're looking to eliminate the guy that's 2nd guy in from the right side (or 7th over from the left,) and move the 8th member with the flute right next to the guitar player with the Takamine cutaway around his neck.

If it's possible and you can help, please let me know.

Until this year, I shared bass duties with the guy with the Hofner copy - it's just the way the band was structured 6 years ago. However, I'm now the full time bassist, while the other guy now primarily plays ancillary percussion and sings.

In the USSR during the Stalin and Brezhnev era, when members mysteriously disappeared (killed off), they would take a razor blade to the negative or photo. The result was always an obviously edited pic where you could see the cut lines where the guy was removed.
