Cactus! Jim McCarty still lives somewhere near me. He plays at a little blues bar a couple miles away from my house. Had the pleasure of seeing their reunion gig (the first one was in NYC, I saw them in Detroit probably 10 or more years ago). They were fabulous!As long as we’re talking about the original trio, Blue Cheer. SLB were just a bit over the top, whereas the Cheer were perfect in their singleminded sludginess.
