Thanks dude. The combination of the DCX and the Empress is magic. Instant recording quality. No opinions on the PG (I'd leave it alone or go BWB), but that is a very tidy little pedalboard you've got there.![]()
Also.. what is "BWB"?

Yes. Musiclily on amazon has really nice guards for around 13-14 dollars. The question is… is the knob spacing and everything the same with a 13 hole?

I like the way that looks with the anodized brass pickguard but if I was changing it I would go with tortoise. A black Jazz with maple neck and tortoise pickguard is my next purchase (no sure when). BTW there are some high quality but inexpensive pickguards available on Amazon.Classic Series '50s Precision Bass® Lacquer
Just scored a 2014 Mexican Fender P in great shape.
Loving the huge neck for my giant hands (I'm 6'9). I put on some DR Pure Blues which complement the stock pickup really well.
The thing SOUNDS great and it fits me well.
But.. I'm not crazy about the gold pick guard. I'm paranoid about buying the wrong one because I know the spacing can be different for the classic 50s series.
I would love to just get a basic white, cream, or white pear. But I really don't wanna spend 80 bucks. Honestly cheaper the better.
Any suggestions? View attachment 5421433
No, you don't. First, in order for the PG to contribute significantly to your shielding, it has to be electrically connected to the rest of the shielding of your cavity.
Second, you can add a conductive layer (in a form of aluminum or copper tape) to the back of any pickguard. Some come with this preinstalled.

Knob spacing shouldn't matter unless your control set is fixed to like a PCB or something. The question is… is the knob spacing and everything the same with a 13 hole?
Dumb question - wouldn't it ground with the top of the pots? No, you don't. First, in order for the PG to contribute significantly to your shielding, it has to be electrically connected to the rest of the shielding of your cavity.
