"Burn Rubber," "You Dropped A Bomb On Me," and "Early In The Morning" are similar, but the Gap Band also did more Parliament-style jams (complete with Charlie Wilson doing a George Clinton-like running commentary) and some excellent ballads. There's a lot more to the Gap Band then just their biggest radio hits.

If you judge them by a few songs, you might as well say the same about a lot of bands.

On those three songs, I absolutely agree.

Just as the Rolling Stones' "Brown Sugar," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," and "Honky Tonk Women" (and probably a few more Stones songs) share a lot of the same formula.
