Pick up popping noise

Hello, I’m looking for some suggestions on what is causing my pick up to make a popping noise. I have a Fender Adam Clayton jazz bass. The noise is only coming from the neck pick up. The noise is like the sound you get if you take out your cord from your jack without turning down the volume. I only get the noise when I hit/play a string. If I turn down the neck pick up the bridge pick up is fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It sounds like your pickup is too high for your playing technique and the strings are hitting the poles.

This is not meant as a dig on your technique, I hit pretty hard with my fingerstyle attack and raise my action accordingly. Round core strings like Sun/HighBeams exacerbate the issue.
