I am a pick player. I have no shame in it, I started with guitar...still play guitar, and I'm comfortable with picks. I have been using my Dunlop Tortex Jazz III XL 1.5mm picks that I use on my guitar, and I do like them on my bass, and get a nice consistent sound. I wanted to try a different material, something softer but not super flexible.
I ordered a 3 pack of the 3.1mm Grey (Hard) Wedgie picks. They just came in today, but I've played around with them a bit.
The sound, again very consistent from note to note, but a lower (deeper) tone than the Jazz III's; which I expected because they're made of rubber. I really like the tone with the Wedgie, but it will definitely take some getting used to. I'm playing on La Bella Flat Wounds, so it gives the Wedgie pick a lot of surface to grip onto as I'm picking. It's a little slower than the Tortex Jazz III's because of this, but I think I can get used to it and be just as efficient with the Wedgie.
