Indeed it is. I was given one a few years ago, but was able to sell it to a vintage gear lover from Argentina for reasonable price.

Yep, they were actually an improvement over the Ampeg endpin pickup.

It seems like upright bass pickups are the one item that you don’t want to be vintage as far as your gear selection goes.

I remember when I started playing these pickups were about. They made such an artificial noise, quite unlike a double bass. Although I had a cheap ply bass I didn’t want to stick one of those on it so I went the ribbon mic route- a Reslo in those days - and got quite good results. At least that’s how I remember it 60 years ago.
