I'm looking to upgrade/re-wire a bass I got off of craigslist. When I got it it has these two mystery pickups and whoever had it before me gutted it and removed all the electronics.
I've rewired my old guitar but I didn't buy new electronics or anything - so I'm not really sure what I should get.
My first idea was to just but a packaged Fender J bass wiring set like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Premium-WIRING-KIT-4-Fender-JAZZ-Bass-w-Shielding-Tape-/300338595376
and get new pickups - probably first getting a new bridge then replacing the neck. Is that I good plan of attack?
So, I was thinking about getting a SD Quarter Pounder for the bridge - will that work? Would I need the 250 or 500k pots?
Thanks for any help!
