pinky problems

ok well ive been teaching myself music theory and bass lately and im haveing trouble playing chords. like high g scales i cant get my pinky to touch the top e string and its really hard to get the a string. did anyone else have this problem or am i just disabled:bawl: i think that i just have small hands.

Small hands really shouldn't stop you. I know, because I've got small hands too. The way I learned to really stretch my hand and strengthen my pinky was through an exercise my teacher called "Pinky Madness".

Here's how to do it:

Code:
Use index finger to hold down all 7's.
Play all the other notes with pinky.
Repeat the following pattern twice on each string.

G 7-7-8-7-7-9-7-7-10-7-7-11-7-7-10-9
D
A
E

Work on that every day when you're warming up and you'll notice the improvement. When you get good, see how fast you can go.
