It's a fantasy story with little reality. I thought it was entertaining, but I enjoyed i t much more knowing it makes poor little Johnny mad. Screw that guy.

For me the standout character of the whole thing was Chrissie Hynde, and particularly Sydney Chandler's portrayal of her. Sydney's acting felt head and shoulders above everyone else in the series to me.

Interesting take. I’ve only seen the first episode. While she is a good actress, she doesn’t portray Chrissie Hynde in any way that I recognise her. Her energy seems wrong. Maybe it gets better as it goes on? As someone who lived in the South (30 miles from London) at the time, I watched it all unfold with bemusement as the older girl I had a crush on ditched her tight jeans for a bin bag. I wasn’t a fan but I’ve always admired Mr Lydon and am really nostalgic for those simpler times.

The character develops quite a bit more than what you're shown in the first episode. I don't know that they ever nail Chrissie Hynde's vibe perfectly, but since this is a biopic based on Steve Jones' book rather than an actual documentary I think taking liberties with characters is fine and expected. Despite any inaccuracies I found her to be the most competent actor in the whole thing and one that told a story with a lot of potential for depth if they were ever to explore it as a sort of biopic spin-off.

I’m on the last episode now. Really enjoyed it all. It’s making me think that with the state of UK politicians on all sides and the current bland label/producer led music scene right now, we’re due a punk revival in the UK any day now.
