I'm designing a Neck-Throuh-Body 4 String fretless bass.
I haven't bought much wood yet, but I started laying out my design in the Softimage Mod Tool.
I was planning this based on the description of how to make a neck for such an instrument, in this link from StewMac...

So, my questions to all you seasoned pro's...
1. Looks like, according to this design, after splitting the StewMac Body Blank in half- there is still enough left over wood to use for the body of a second guitar made like this?
2. The 34" length of the StewMac Curly Maple neck blanks, doesn't really work for making a 34" Scale Length bass? Because 34" Scale Length means from the nut to the start of the bridge, right? So, that would leave the bridge hanging off the end of the wood. What can I do about this except for changing the scale length to something shorter like 30", for example...???
Thanks,
Peace and long live the Blues!
