its a great concept i however have chosen another option. i save all my old strings and give them to my friends who go to west africa, they give them to the players there who don't have strings or who need them. that way other musicians are getting to use them who couldn't afford them otherwise. they create guitars/basses out of anything, all they need is the strings and pickup.

I don't see any reason why Long & McQuade couldn't make some arrangement with D'Addario to be the Canadian drop off point.
