Playing Boss DR-3 thru amp/speakers

I just got a used DR-3 and am wondering how/if I can play it through my amp so I can play along with it !? My amp is a Yamaha bbt500. I know nothing about these things > Is that what the MIDI jacks are for ? ( I dont even know what MIDI stands for)
