Larry is the man!! I used to catch him late night when I lived in Chicago. He plays with Mike Wheeler. First time I saw him my jaw was on the floor.

He's a real nice guy. I once asked how he learned to play the bass upside down like that. He said how'd u learn how to play the bass? I said I don't know.. I just sat down and started learning bass lines. He said me too man, me too...

Larry's a cool guy. I emailed him a while back asking for some technique guidance regarding how he played, and he responded with some tips. Then he said that it would be too much to cover via email, so he gave me his cell # and told me to call him when I'm ready, and we can FaceTime or Skype to go over it.

Also, here's a link to a thread that I posted a while ago with a bunch of guys who play this way. (Not attempting to hikack your thread, i just was always looking for guys who do this, so I put a bunch in one spot for easy reference.) As a lefty, it's very cool to see.

I'm guessing he plays that way because he learned that way out of necessity? I wonder if he's tried lefty basses strung GDAE since he's used to that. It would have to be more comfortable.
