Pleasantly surprised with PF 500 purchase (never played thru one)

My SWR Bass 350 was on the fritz so I decided to get a new amp (used, but new to me). After considering research and budget, I went with the PF 500. I've played bass since 1991 and I've had 3 SWR amps, 3 Eden amps, 2 Ampeg's & then some other crapper beginner stuff. Just plugging straight in to this PF 500 - I get a killer tone. I was playing with a pick today (tuned down to D) and was just amazed on how good this thing sounds. I play it with a Bag End 1x15 and with an ESP PJ :)

There was a hiccup in the line for a minute. It has been corrected. Does anyone know what S/Ns to look for in ones that came off the line before the fix?

Having it early on in a thread about this model may help those looking on the used market. There are probably quite a few still around that never got sent back to Ampeg for the correction.

Good question. And here's something else I didn't mention; I ordered the PF 500 used from GC. When it showed up on my doorstep, it worked for about 30 seconds then died. Of course GC was more than helpful as they just let me go in my local store and swap it for another PF 500. This one is working like a champ so far.
