Hi there, just playing my P bass at my desk and having a wee think.
I think I would like to make my life miserable and try and install an unnecessary pickup "for fun", just because I am a bit bored with this situation.
So I have a regular sized P bass and I think I want to install a regular ole' Tele bass single coil pickup ahead of it nearer the neck. And then I want to install a 2-way switch that means only one of them will ever be on at a time. (I know there are wonderful 3 way options, but no thanks. Not this time).
So anyway... after becoming thoroughly confused by erroneous Youtube tutorials about 6pin switches, I think all I need is a 3-pin SPDT switch.
Can somebody with the know-how check my back of the envelop wiring diagram, attached below, and let me know if I am going to fry anybody, please?
For clarity: I was imagining a little Wago 3-way connector gadget (also pictured below) that would merge the ground wires so they would always be connected together (because I have a non-standard non-accessible-for-soldering-pots situation that I don't want to explain - it's fine). And then the switch would selecting which pickup got the Hot signal and break the signal path to the other one.
Because my pots are none-too-accesible, all of this would be inserted be'twixt pickups and pots.
Yeeeeeeeah sounds like a fun weekend muck-around
Cheers
