The fret markers and tuners are definately Teisco. I'm not sure of the model but check out some 60's teisco catalogs on the web and you'll probably find what you're looking for.

Yes, it's a mid-60s Teisco EB-18, also sometimes branded Kent. The headstock looks to have been reshaped and converted to 2+2.

I've never seen any Teisco bass with that peghead shape, so I am guessing it's a parts bass, because I don't have a better response.

I belive the headstock originally looked like this -

The guy just took off that scroll part of the headstock with a bandsaw.

I have a request if someone can identify this bass, or in the best case would even sell it to me. The bass has a walnut body and an asymmetrical headstock with 3:1 machine heads (was a rarity in the 60s/70s). The bass was exhibited for sale at the violin master luthier Franke in Darmstadt Germany and is said to have belonged to his journeyman Peter Körner. From the pick-ups it could quite probably be a Teisco bass of the late 60ies/ 70ies, the "Silvertone 1490" has similar pick-up.
