I've heard it suggested that "Going For The One" by Yes uses 8-string bass, but it doesn't have that idiomatic 8-string sound to my ears so I'm not sure.

There's plenty of 8 string and 12 string bass on the first Pearl Jam album, Ten. And a +1 for John Paul Jones's album Zooma. He does some amazing things with multi-course basses. The followup to that record is called The Thunderthief, and that's pretty awesome, too.

Kings X dUg has always used copious amounts of 8 string action. It's Love is a fine example.

Squire used an 8-string on a few songs like "Hearts", "Changes", "It's Over" (a bonus track on the remastered "90125") and "Going For The One".
