Please recommend some free anti-virus software

avast+malwarebytes+spybot

never had problems and I watch all the porn. all of it.

full scans once a week. rarely found anything and when I did it was facebook aids not pr0n aids

used to use AVG, and its a great free option. just found avast to be just a bit better. and at the cost of free why not get the little bit better one.

AVAST! has been rated consistently very good - better than AVG / McAfee / Kaspersky / and MS. Malwarebytes is also terrific, but you don't let that run in the background - you do a manual scan on new stuff. You do not want 2 anti-malware programs running in the background - it can cause big problems.

Just one caution, when downloading Avast, you go through several screens and you have to be careful you keep picking the right free version, as they keep trying to get you to do a "free trial" of the paid version.

AND - Just FYI - the BEST un-installer is REVO. You cannot believe how much crap programs leave in your system when you remove them using their own un-installers. Revo digs out everything, including all the tiny registry entries, etc.

Apparently my facebook page was accessed by someone I don't know, from a cell phone 2,000 miles away. I'm guessing maybe it's some spyware in my computer? I don't know. If you know of any good anti-virus that is free, I'd love to know about it, thanks.

You shouldn't conclude that your facebook password has been compromised by a keylogger on your desktop computer. It really isn't the most likely scenario.

Most "breakins" of this kind come from reusing password for sites that are "important" (paypal, facebook etc) and low quality sites where hackers capture all the passwords (and then use them against higher quality sites knowing that password sharing is common).
