PLEASE!! Someone help me on a SX 5 string!!

I recently bought a SX 5'r fretless, and the B string is completely unplayable, has horrible tone and NO sustain, Im going to be replacing pups and controls and restring it E-C. Hopefully that will cure that problem.

I'd suggest adjusting your pickup height and maybe trying a different set of strings before doing all that...somebody posted recently having similar issues, and that solved most, if not all, of the problem.

The SX I got a while back was like that, though I think it was the string that was the problem. The Douglas six-string I just got from them has a great B string, both with the strings that came with it and the La Bella tapewounds I put on last night.

I found the stock B string on my SX was just fine. Assuming they use the same stock strings, could just be my playing style.

I'm changing the strings to flats for my own tone preference, but if I wanted to keep rounds on it I'd play the stock strings for a while. They ain't that bad.
