Please suggest an amp head for this cab

Hey everyone thanks in advance for the help...

At my band's rehearsal spot there's an Ampeg cab that says: "Power handling 800W RMS (mono) & 400W RMS (dual)"

The current amp head that sits on it is a Peavy Tour 450 and I really don't like the sound. I keep messing around with it and just can't find the right sound.

I'd like to start bringing my own amp head, but I'm not too sure what to buy. I'm mostly after a Robert DeLeo sound (Stone Temple Pilots). I'm playing a EBMM Stingray 4 which I love.

What do you suggest as a good option that will work with this Ampeg cab? Price is not really an issue, as long as I get the sound I'm looking for, and I can also use it for gigs (not just rehearsing).

Apologies if I left anything out or said something dumb, but I've only been playing for about a year and I admit I have much to learn.

Thanks again...

Judging by the mono/dual options I'm guessing it's an 810e?

What don't you like about your current tone? Keep in mind the older US made Ampeg cabs are "darker" sounding if that is a problem you have.

As far as what head there aren't too many heads out there that sound bad through "The Fridge". But since you will be moving it around a lot consider a lightweight/micro head.
